It’s been a while since iOS 14.5 launched, but we’re already excited about what iOS 14.6 might bring. The public beta is now available for download.
In iOS 14’s large iOS 14.5 update released last week, Apple introduced a bunch of new features that included unlocking your iPhone. Wear a mask and use Face ID while protecting your private area, do not let advertising apps track you, and choose from four different Siri voices.
Although that may get us distracted, we’re still eagerly anticipating Apple’s upcoming iOS 14.6 update.
There are some good new features and some bug fixes in iOS 14.6, so I think it will be very minor compared with iOS 14.5. Interested users can hold off for the general release for a few days. Below we will explain how to download the public beta.
Below is what we know so far about iOS 14.6. We also compiled all the rumors about iOS 15 so far.
When will iOS 14.6 be released?
Launched in September, iOS 14 was first intended to accompany the iPhone 12. Each month, Apple releases the latest version of its mobile operating system with new features and bug fixes. Apple released its iOS 14.5 update a few months late.
As of now, an alpha version of the latest release of Apple’s operating system, iOS 14.6, is available for public beta testing.
This means that you can download it, but some bugs may exist, since Apple has not completed the final release of the software. It is not recommended to download any beta on a device that you regularly use.
We can follow some clues to predict when Apple will release a new version of iOS. Our expectation is that iOS 14.6 will be available by May as our public beta began on April 23 and released around once a month.
Particularly since this update is likely to be tiny, and because we can expect Apple to unveil iOS 15 at its World Wide Developers Conference in mid-June.

You have to sign up for Apple’s Beta Software Program if you wish to download the iOS 14.6 public beta and check out some of the new features.

How will I get iOS 14.6 once it is available to the public?
Upon its release, you’ll be prompted to download iOS 14.6. If you don’t get a prompt, you can do this:
1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
2. Select General.
3. Tap Software Update.
You will be prompted to download the update from Apple’s servers from your device. Reboot your device to complete the installation. You will now have iOS 14.6 on your device.
Apple iOS 14.6 is compatible with which devices?
iPhone 6S ($250 at Best Buy), all iPhone models at least up through the iPhone 12, along with the iPhone SE ($160 on eBay) and 7th-generation iPod Touch ($150 at Amazon) will be compatible with iOS 14.6.
The release of iOS 14.6 is expected to include the following features.
iOS 14.6 isn’t yet known for its features. However, since iOS 14.5 introduced many new features, it’s likely that this update will include fewer novelty features. It’s more likely to focus on making a number of under-the-hood tweaks. This beta version is said to contain “bug fixes and improvements.”
Better beta tools
Apple provides tools that let developers and public beta testers of apps update to the beta version of iOS 14.6 without removing their developer or beta profile.
